Side One — Beneath the Waves

A fast attack submarine sits at the center of the field, bow oriented upward, sail and masts in full detail. Two dolphins — the historic symbol of the submarine service — flank the hull, their bodies arcing through stylized ocean swells that wrap the lower field. A trident rises from the base, anchoring the composition in the mythology of the deep. Concentric rings radiate from the sail — sonar pulses, silent and invisible, reaching outward through the water column. Two riveted boss studs mark the inner border at three and nine o’clock. The motto arcs across the top in raised relief: BENEATH THE WAVES. The bottom arc answers: WE OWN THE DEEP. Rope-twist border, both sides. This side is a declaration of domain.

Side Two — Run Silent, Run Deep

The submarine now runs at battle speed, hull at a slight angle, cutting through open ocean swells that break white beneath the keel. The sail rises with full antenna and periscope detail — the only thing above the surface, and only barely. Concentric sonar rings expand behind the vessel, filling the upper field with the geometry of underwater detection — the invisible language of submarine warfare. A torpedo runs hot from the bow, tracking right. Riveted boss studs at three, six, and nine o’clock. RUN SILENT, RUN DEEP commands the top arc. THE SILENT SERVICE anchors the bottom. This side doesn’t represent the submarine force — it represents what the submarine force does when no one is watching.
