Close Air Support Challenge Coin
Danger Close Is Still Close Enough
Close air support is built on trust. The Close Air Support Challenge Coin honors the professionals who make that coordination possible.
The aircraft has to arrive when promised. The controller has to understand the ground fight. The aircrew has to identify the right target, deliver with precision, and protect the Marines operating below—often with little room for hesitation or error.
Designed for Marine aviators, aircrews, Joint Terminal Attack Controllers, forward air controllers, ground combat Marines, veterans, and military aviation collectors, this coin represents the connection between those fighting on the ground and those bringing decisive power from above.
The phrase “Danger Close Is Still Close Enough” captures the dark confidence of those who understand the mission. It is not about recklessness. It is about discipline under pressure, technical competence, and the willingness to operate inside unforgiving margins when the people on the ground need support immediately.
Crafted in Sentinel LaserArt’s signature antique brass style, this double-sided military challenge coin carries the rugged character of a piece meant to be handled, displayed, and passed down. Its sculpted relief and substantial presentation reflect the force, speed, and precision associated with Marine aviation and close air support operations.
This is more than an aircraft collectible.
It represents a mission built on coordination, communication, and mutual trust. It honors the crews who launch, the maintainers who keep aircraft ready, the controllers who guide fires, and the Marines who rely on that support when the fight closes in.
The Close Air Support Challenge Coin makes a meaningful gift for active-duty Marines, Marine Corps veterans, military aviators, aviation maintainers, JTACs, air officers, and collectors who recognize the value of disciplined combat power.
Built for those who understand that support is not measured by distance.
It is measured by accuracy, timing, and effect.
On deck. In the air. On target.
