Outnumbered, surrounded, and fighting in some of the harshest winter conditions ever faced by U.S. forces, Marines demonstrated the determination, discipline, and brotherhood that have become defining characteristics of the Corps. Their actions remain a benchmark of battlefield leadership, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to one another.
